Quick answer: Competition team is extra structure for students who already attend regularly — not a first-class requirement.
Is competition team required to start martial arts?
No. Most beginners start a regular Taekwondo or BJJ hour. Team is later.
How do I know if competition team is right for me?
If you already train weekly and want extra rounds, ask the coach. If you have never taken a class, start the trial first.
Does every location have a competition team hour?
Ask. Do not copy Midland’s team night onto Caro or Hemlock.
Ask Whether Competition Team Is the Right Next Step
If the student is interested in tournaments or extra training, Che Ko can help decide whether to keep building fundamentals or start preparing for competition goals.
